Parquetry Chest of Drawers, France, 1960s
Beautiful French dresser with inlaid blocks of woods arranged in a geometric pattern. The front of the chest tapers inward as it approaches the bottom before the lip. The carved front legs have a forward flare and terminate with a curved gold washed brass shield. The drawer pulls are matching. The screws inside the drawers holding the pulls have caps over them adding a wonderful finishing touch. Natural imperfections on the top have been restored during the entire restoration process and are integrated into the finish--exquisitely finished inside and out.
