Pair of French Art Deco Club Chairs by Paul Follot, circa 1930
Matched pair of French Art Deco club chairs with gessoed and gilt-wood frames which include the fluted legs that taper and terminate with flattened balls, and backs that come to graceful Gothic points at the top. As refined as ever, these chairs are down filled and covered in a blue-fog french silk brocade and trimmed in a matching silk braid thought to be the original upholstery. They maintain their comfortability and are sold as a pair with their matching lumbar cushions.
Paul Follot was a designer and decorator and an Art Deco Traditionalist. His early designs were inspired by Neo-Gothic as seen in the top of the frames on these chairs.
